Welcome

Welcome to the abodetherapy.co.uk Client Confidentiality and Consent page.

Please note that Abode therapy Ltd is a platform to connect you with therapists. The therapist is the provider of therapy services.

Confidentiality

Abode therapy (Abode therapy Ltd.) will respect and protect the confidentiality of your personal data, and your therapist will protect the confidentiality of any information you share during your sessions, in accordance with the principles of the General Data Protection Regulation May 2018 (GDPR), clinical governance audit standards, and requirements of his/her professional body. More details can be found in our Privacy Policy.

Your personal data will not be shared with third parties, with the exception of the below circumstances when your therapist is under legal obligation to provide information to the appropriate agencies (e.g. GP, the police, Social Services etc):

a) He/she perceives that you are a danger to yourself or others

b) He/she perceives that a minor is at risk

c) He/she is required to share information under a court order or by law

d) He/she is required to disclose information for the prevention, detection or prosecution of a crime

Your therapist will aim to discuss such concerns and obligations with you before notifying relevant parties, however this may not always be possible, and he/she will use clinical judgment to act in the best possible way to minimise possible harm.

Your therapist is required to participate in regular supervision as part of his/her commitment to good practice and in accordance with professional standards. The duty of confidentiality extends to your therapist’s supervisor(s).

Session timings

Sessions will last either 30 minutes (brief session), 50 minutes (full individual session) or 90 minutes (assessment). If you have not entered the online waiting room within 15 minutes of the start of the session, the session may be ended and you will be required to pay for the full price of the session.

Fees

The fee for an assessment is £350 for 90 minutes (including a written assessment summary); therapy sessions cost £120 for 50 minutes or £85 for 30 minutes. Our collections cost £650 for six sessions, £1200 for 12 sessions. Initial telephone consultations (15 minutes) are free of charge.

Cancellation

Abode Therapy operates a 48-hour working day cancellation policy. Sessions will be charged at the full rate if cancelled with less than 48-hours notice. If they are cancelled with more than 48 hours notice, you will be given the option to re-book. Please note that if you are under the influence of drugs or alcohol during a session, it may be necessary for your therapist to terminate the session early. In this case, you would still be charged the full price of the session.

Onward recommendations

In some circumstances, therapists may decide that their service is not best placed to support you and your needs. This will typically occur either after an initial (free) 15-minute consult, an assessment (90 mins) or a therapy session (50 mins or 30 mins). However, we reserve the right to withdraw services at any time. We will always let you know, and if possible we will make onward recommendations for services that we think may be able to better support you.
